André Pleau is self-taught and is dedicated to oil paint. He works with the palette knife and his treatment is unique. With large energetic gestures, he conjures the dynamism of nature into being, where matter dances, becomes alive and establishes itself as if erupting from a moment of febrility. A new territory appears. When his paintings are finished, he scores them with energetic gestures, furrowing the surface. Another dimension then enriches his pictures, creating a deep recession wherein the eye can lose itself.
